Your identity is NOT EXPOSED
While other companies directly link your identity details to your DNA profile, IPEX will hide your identity by using a unique barcode. Once your DNA Test results are delivered to you we will destroy any link between the barcode and your identity so even we can't recover your data. We will also have the DNA data destroyed at the lab under GDPR legislation so no-one can search your DNA or trace it back to you.
If you choose to have no electronic fingerprint at all, we can deliver your data on a physically pass coded memory stick with no DNA data connection back to you.

Is my information secure?
Yes. Your personal data is only associated with your test by a barcode. The lab never sees ANY of your personal data.
We specifically chose a lab in Europe that operates under the GDPR data deletion rules which means your DNA results and records will be obliterated and are unrecoverable by ANYONE.
Do you follow FDA rules?
Yes. The FDA has specific rules regarding DTC (Direct To Consumer) DNA tests that we follow and monitor for changes.

How do you handle the data?
All of our protected data falls either under HIPAA and/or PCI rules and is protected where applicable.
If you select the ULTRA SECURE option your DNA reports and RAW data will be loaded onto a physical Pass-Code protected USB stick using an Encrypted VPN Tunnel and physically mailed to you, Your DNA data and reports will be GDPR erased from the lab and from our U.S. servers using a data shredder that erases and overwrites the data multiple times so no digital footprint remains, other than a sales receipt.
Will genetic relatives be able to find me?
NO. We have a policy that all tests are OPT-OUT of Genealogy search databases. If you are looking to have your DNA profile published to a searchable database then our test is NOT FOR YOU.
How is the secure USB locked for the Ultra Secure pack?
The USB stick has a physical number keypad that is used to unlock the data access with a PIN code. You will be sent a PIN Code in a separate envelope from your USB stick.
